The Autism: Attacking Social Interaction Problems (AASIP) Program provides a comprehensive yet practical approach to teaching social communication skills to children with high functioning autism, Asperger's syndrome and other disorders which result in social communication deficits.  Students will enjoy engaging with their peers as they increase their confidence and learn how to become social communicators. Included in this workbook are sample parent letters, teacher letters, weekly skill steps and/or simple stories to reinforce the information as well as suggestions for extension activities.

This user friendly workbook includes 8 modules addressing 3 core areas with 2 complete sequential lessons included in each.  The book is divided into two sections for children 4-6 and 7-9 years of age allowing flexibility to select activities from both age groups depending on the needs of the children.  These lessons can be easily used in a school setting as well as a clinical setting.  Additionally, the AASIP is available for students 10-12 years of age.

The AASIP program is unique in that it also includes a Parent Resource Manual sold separately, which provides useful information to parents.  Topics include social-emotional milestones, what to look for in a social skills program, national organizations for autism, local and regional support groups, and a materials resource guide.  This handy booklet is available in English and Spanish.

The authors combined years of professional experience makes this book a valuable resource!
