Early Intervention Program
Day/Times: Monday - Friday/8:30-12:30 or 12:30-3:30 pm
Minimum Hours: 2 hours per week
Requirements:
Experience with children ages 18 mo - 3 yrs, preferred but not required
Readers/Storytellers
In order to promote literacy and provide important stimulation to our children, we offer storytelling. Stories can be read, or embellished with puppets or other visual aids. There is a great deal of room for creativity and new ideas in this area
Day/Times: Monday - Friday/ 9-5 pm
Minimum Hours: 1 hour per week
Requirements:
Ability to engage typical pre-school children, 2-5 years
Say 'N Play Camp
Thematic summer camp sessions which provide intense speech and language stimulation through both structured and unstructured activities
Dates: late June-mid August. 2008 dates not yet determined
Times: 9 - 3 daily
Minimum Hours: 3 hours per session
Requirements:
Interest in working with children with special needs
Social Skills Language Group
A social skills program for children between 4 and 8 years of age with diagnoses of Asperger's syndrome, high functioning autism, and ADHD
Day/Times: Tuesdays 2:45 - 5:00 pm
Minimum Hours: 2 hours per week
Requirements:
Experience with children on the autism spectrum. A background in speech pathology, psychology or related field is helpful.
Grandparent Luncheon
The center hosts an annual luncheon honoring grandparents and other relative caregivers who are raising children in the absence of their parents. The annual event takes place in December. Planning begins in January.
Involvement Opportunities:
Perhaps you know a deserving grandparent to nominate, or work for or own a business/corporation who would like to assist in underwriting the event or donate gifts. Or Perhaps you would like to adopt a grandfamily, assist in stuffing envelopes or making calls, etc. There is much to be done and all help is greatly appreciated.
